“Sleeping Dogs” is a detective film starring Russell Crowe as a former police officer suffering from amnesia. The story begins with Roy Freeman (played by Russell Crowe) immersed in nightmares related to memory loss. He has plastered notes around his house to remember how to bake bread and even his own name. A murder case from the past unexpectedly resurfaces when the convicted murderer, Isaac Samuel, is believed to be innocent. Roy decides to delve into the case, reuniting with his old partner, Jimmy Remis, and uncovering mysteries surrounding the death of researcher Dr. Joseph Wieder .
Despite its flaws, Russell Crowe delivers more than the film deserves. However, “Sleeping Dogs” doesn’t quite measure up to his other works . If you enjoy detective genres and want to see Russell Crowe back in action, give this film a try!
