problems trying to watch films

sorry i forgot to add, i can watch films on computer, but i cannot watch on my smart tv, i have the ethernet cable connected to tvcan u send me the link u got that message ?

I have a smart tv and watch films that I have stored on my computer on my tv by connecting an HDMI cable from the computer directly to the tv. My computer is about 10 feet from the tv in my living room. The HDMI cable stays connected all the time. When I want to watch a movie stored on my computer on the big tv, using the tv's INPUT button on the remote, I switch the input to HDMI2. Then on my computer in the sound settings, I change the output device to the tv and it's ready to go. When I'm done watching, I switch the input back to computer, and change the sound back to my computer speakers. The ethernet cable has nothing to do with viewing movies this way so just leave it alone and don't try to connect it to your tv.
